|Pattonville High School recognizes Outstanding Senior, other department honorees at Senior Awards Night|

Pattonville High School senior Max Spitzmiller was named the Outstanding Senior for the Class of 2017 during Senior Awards Night on May 24. The Outstanding Senior is chosen each year from teacher nominations. Pattonville High School also honored several seniors with Outstanding Senior Departmental Awards and other special awards.
Each department recognizes one student who has shown outstanding academic achievement, leadership and citizenship. This year's Outstanding Senior Departmental Award winners are: Anastasia Barnum, community service; Mackenzie Deutsch, art; Marissa Dickman, vocal music; Marcus Duffy, family and consumer science; Syrus Duffy, business education; Mollie Emerick, ECHO (yearbook); Dax Faulkingham, modern language (German); Keturah Gadson, band and social studies; Ethan Hughes, speech and debate; Benjamin Moser, English language arts; Tshiama Muamba, health sciences and science; Sarah Ponder, Pirate Press (newspaper); Mikaella Rectin, orchestra; Austin Rowland, Thomas Frick Student Service Award; Spitzmiller, physical education; Micah Thompkins, modern language (French); Sophie Vik, theater; Olivia Wedig, Gifted Honors English, mathematics and modern language (Spanish); Brandon Wheeler, skilled technical sciences; and Joshua Zahner, technology and engineering.
The following special awards were also recognized: Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Sportsmanship Award - Kevin Bower and Abigail Schrumpf; St. Louis Post-Dispatch Scholar Athlete and QuestBridge Scholar - Thompkins; United States Army Reserve Scholar Athletes - Spitzmiller and Madison Utley; Four-Year Perfect Attendance - Zahner; and National Merit Award - Mitchell Skaggs.
