THE WORD OF THE WEEK IS BENEVOLENT. It is from the Latin word bene (BE nay), which means well or good, and velle (VEL ay), which means to wish. If you are benevolent, you wish someone well. Some words you may know that have the same root are benefit, beneficial, benign. In French, good morning is “Bon Jour” and in Spanish, it is “Buenos Dias” both of which come from the same Latin root.
