PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES will take place at PHS this Wednesday, October 4 from 4:30pm to 8:00pm and Thursday, October 5 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm.  No appointments necessary.
There will be NO SCHOOL FOR PHS on Friday, October 6.

PREPARE NOW FOR THE OCTOBER ACT TEST.  All review classes are free.  It is not necessary to sign up in advance, however please be prompt.
  • The English ACT Review Class will be held this evening, October 2 from 6-8pm. in room B115.
  • The Math ACT Review Class will be held tomorrow evening, October 3 from 6-8pm. in room H215.  Bring pencil, paper, and a calculator.

DON'T WAIT TIL THE LAST MINUTE!  GET YOUR HOMECOMING DANCE TICKET TODAY!!  This Thursday, October 5 is the last day to purchase tickets.  Avoid the rush; buy your ticket during your lunch session in the Student Commons today.  Ticket price is $15.  In order to purchase a ticket, you must have:
  • Your ID
  • All fines paid (See Mrs. Mason in the Front Office prior to Thursday to pay your fines.)
  • 90% attendance

STUDENTS WITH AN ATTENDANCE PERCENTAGE UNDER 90% ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND THE HOMECOMING DANCE.  Appeals to attend must be completed by this Wednesday, October 4; contact your principal.

STUDENT QUEST NON-DENOMINATIONAL CHRISTIAN CLUB will meet today, October 2 after school in E209.  Every one is welcome!

  • MURRAY STATE UNIVERSITY will be here today, October 2 at 9:00am.
  • HARRIS STOWE STATE UNIVERSITY will be here tomorrow, October 3 at 10:00am.

MANUFACTURING DAY FIELD TRIP, tomorrow, October 3.  Learn about manufacturing careers and tour a facility.  See Mrs. L for permission form.

SENIORS:  Come to the FAFSA Frenzy tomorrow evening, October 3 from 6:30-8pm for free help filing your FAFSA.  See Mrs. L to sign-up.

ANIME CLUB will meet Wednesday, October 4 from 2:15 to 4 PM in B114.

NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY will have a short meeting after school on Wednesday, October 4.  This is the last week to turn in dues, if you have not already.

AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING IN THE LIBRARY is canceled Wednesday, October 4 and Thursday, October 5 due to Parent/Teacher Conferences.  THE MATH HELP CENTER will also be closed both days.

THE WEIGHT ROOM AND THE FITNESS CENTER will be closed on Wednesday, October 4 and Thursday, October 5.

ACTIVITY BUSES will only run at 4:15pm on October 4 and October 5.

SENIORS:  Senior Hoody order forms are available at lunch every day.  Hoody forms must be returned to Dr. Fitzgerald's office, G214.  The deadline is Thursday, October 5.

COMPENSATE is a verb and it means:
  • To provide something good as a balance against something bad or undesirable
  • To make up for some defect or weakness
  • To pay money or something else of value (to someone) in return for something (such as work)

STUDENTS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN TAKING THE PRELIMINARY SAT/NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFYING TEST ON OCTOBER 11:  Please bring $15 - cash or check payable to PHS - to Mr. Handrahan in the Counseling Office by Thursday, October 5.  You will receive an informational booklet and practice exam when you sign up.  There are 100 spots available - first come, first served sign ups.  Also, see Mr. Handrahan for information on fee waivers.
