TODAY, OCTOBER 5 IS THE LAST DAY TO BUY A HOMECOMING DANCE TICKET.  Tickets are $15 and can be purchased during all lunch sessions in the Student Commons.  You must have your ID on, have all fines paid, and have a 90% attendance rate.

HOMECOMING FESTIVITIES BEGIN NEXT WEEK.  VISIT THE PHS WEBSITE FOR A LIST OF OUR SPIRIT DAYS.  Have fun and participate each day to win points for your class.   To start off the week, Monday is Pajama Day.

SENIORS:  Senior Hoody order forms are available at lunch.  Hoody forms must be returned to Dr. Fitzgerald's office, G214.  Today, October 5 is the deadline.  Payment is not due today, but the order form is, so make sure you get your order in even if you cannot currently pay.

ACTIVITY BUSES will only run at 4:15pm today, October 5.

AFTER-SCHOOL SUPERVISION for students staying after for sports or school-supervised activities, will be held in the Auditorium today, October 5.  As a reminder, students are NOT to bring food or drinks into the Auditorium.

AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING IN THE LIBRARY is canceled today, October 5 due to Parent/Teacher Conferences.

THE MATH HELP CENTER, THE WEIGHT ROOM AND THE FITNESS CENTER are closed after school today, October 5.

THERE IS NO SCHOOL FOR PHS tomorrow, October 6.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED AT PHS ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 13 from 7:15-10:15am to help give directions to visitors to our school.  Come to CSO, E200, to sign-up.

SENIORS:  Apply FREE to colleges today, October 5:
8-9am UMSL
9-10am Maryville
10-11am University of Central MO
1:15-2:10pm, Walk-in help with any FAFSA or college app questions.

STUDENTS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN TAKING THE PRELIMINARY SAT/NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFYING TEST ON OCTOBER 11:  Please bring $15 - cash or check payable to PHS - to Mr. Handrahan in the Counseling Office today, October 5.  You will receive an informational booklet and practice exam when you sign up.  There are 100 spots available - first come, first served sign ups.  Also, see Mr. Handrahan for information on fee waivers.

SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS, SENIORS:  Register now for the Career Day Field Trip to St. Charles Community College.  Experience hands-on activities related to your career interest.  Space is limited.  Permission forms are available outside Mrs. Luraschi's office.

PIRATE PETE'S CLOSET is open!  Come aboard before school or after school and explore the free clothes, jackets, and shoes.

THE WORD OF THE WEEK IS COMPENSATE.    
Antonyms:  take away, to fine, to penalize
Synonyms:  recompense, remunerate and satisfy
COMPENSATE is a verb, which means:  to provide something good in return for something (such as work) so, we hope you all had a very compensated week.

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES will take place at PHS tonight, October 5 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm.  Appointments are not needed.  There is NO SCHOOL FOR PHS on Friday, October 6.
