COLLEGE VISITS FOR JUNIORS AND SENIORS THIS WEEK:  Sign up for College Visits thru Family Connections.  Questions?  See Ms. Patrick in Guidance.
  • WESTMINSTER COLLEGE will be here at 10:00am today, January 31.
  • UNIVERSITY OF MO - ST. LOUIS will be here at 1:00pm today, January 31.
  • HARRIS-STOWE STATE UNIVERSITY will be here at 8:00am tomorrow, February 1.

THE MATH ACT REVIEW CLASS will be held tonight, January 31 in room H215 from 6-8pm.  Please arrive on time and bring a calculator, pencil & paper.

JUNIORS INTERESTED IN TAKING THE ACT, SAT OR ACT WORK KEYS FOR FREE, stop by and see Ms. Patrick in the Guidance Office.

COLLEGE ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR SENIORS:
  • St. Louis Community College Placement Test field trip forms are due NOW to Mrs. Luraschi.
  • Apply to St. Charles Community College during tomorrow's Homeroom; meet in the Student Commons with your laptop, Social Security Number, and credit card for the $10 fee.
  • FAFSA is due tomorrow, February 1.  Come to the College Center, with your laptop, during Homeroom tomorrow for help.

TOMORROW, FEBRUARY 1ST IS WORLD HIJAB DAY (pronounced "he jab").  Stop by the Muslim Student Association table in the Commons at lunch tomorrow and try on a Hijab.

INTERESTED IN A CAREER AS A FIREFIGHTER OR EMT?  Come to an informational meeting tomorrow, February 1 from 1:30-2:15pm in the College and Career Center to discuss the opportunity to do a job shadow/ride along with the Pattonville Fire Department.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. Martinez in the Guidance Office.

GAME CLUB will meet tomorrow, February 1 from 2:20-4:00pm in room D115.

STUCO APPLICATIONS will be available Monday, February 5 in the Activities Office, STUCO store, and outside room D212.

SENIOR PANORAMIC RAFFLE will be drawn on Friday, February 9.  Ticket sales will continue during all lunches or see Ms. Lopez in D212.  All proceeds go to Ryleigh's Make A-Wish trip.

STUDENTS:  Do you dabble in creative writing, write song lyrics, perform poetry on the side, have an essay that made you really proud, keep a journal, etc.?  Take that writing passion to the next level and consider sharing those talents on stage at Writers Week.  Ask an English teacher for more details about Writers Week and pick up an application.  Deadline for submissions is February 9th (next Friday!).  It's time to let your voice be heard.
        
THE WORD OF THE WEEK IS MALIGN (ma - line).  Some synonyms for malign are slander, libel, disparage, and denigrate.  Some synonyms are praise and extol.

9TH & 10TH GRADE CAREER FAIR FIELD TRIP:  See Mrs. Luraschi in the College Center for a permission form.

PERSONAL FINANCE TEST:  If you are in grades 10-12 and are interested in taking the Personal Finance Test this spring, the test will take place on Wednesday, March 14 at 2:30pm in room B208.  The test is being offered free of charge this year.  There are only 20 spots available, therefore the first 20 students that sign-up will be allowed to take the exam.  Please see Ms. Johnson in the Guidance Office to sign-up; the deadline to register is February 27.
