PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES are being held tonight, March 7 from 4:30 to 8:00pm. and tomorrow night, March 8 from 4:30 to 7:30pm.  Appointments are not needed.  There will be no school for PHS on Friday, March 9.

ACTIVITY BUSES will only run at 4:15pm today & tomorrow (March 7 & 8).

AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING IN THE LIBRARY is canceled for today and tomorrow, (March 7 & 8) due to Parent/Teacher Conferences.  THE MATH HELP CENTER will also be closed both days.

THE WEIGHT ROOM AND THE FITNESS CENTER are closed today & tomorrow (March 7 & 8).

THERE ARE NO AFTER-SCHOOL DETENTIONS today, March 7 due to Parent/Teacher Conferences.

ANIME CLUB will meet today, March 7 from 2:15 to 4 PM in B114.

THERE WILL BE AN IMPORTANT INTERNATIONAL CLUB MEETING during Homeroom/Contact Time tomorrow, March 8 in room D201 to discuss the International Day show.

ATTENTION WRITERS WEEK PARTICIPANTS AND ANYONE WANTING TO SUPPORT WRITERS WEEK:  T-shirt forms and money are due tomorrow, March 8.  See your English teacher or visit for forms.  Please bring the form and your money to either Mrs. Wynn or Mr. Dalton by tomorrow.

JUNIORS:  Get a head start on your college applications & learn about the Common Application tomorrow, March 8 from 1:15-2:15 in the College Center.

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS INTERESTED IN TAKING AP EXAMS:  Registration is open now and will end tomorrow, March 8 at 7:00pm.  Payment is also due at this time.  You can find the registration link on the high school website under seasonal links.  If you have any questions regarding AP exam registration contact Mrs. Michel in the Guidance Office.

ATTENDANCE "BATTLE OF THE CLASSES" THROUGH THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY:  Reminder our goal is for each class to achieve a 90% attendance rate, for each class that reaches this goal they will receive free ice cream at the next grading period.  Next grading period ends April 10th.
1st Place Sophomores 88.8%
2nd Place Freshmen 86.4%
3rd Place Juniors 83.8%
4th Place Seniors 82.8%
Reminder that students must have 90% attendance to attend all dances and to purchase a parking sticker.  Log in to Power School to view your attendance %.

JUNIORS:  Attend the PHS Overnight College Bus Tour on April 16 & 17; visit 5 colleges in Missouri.  See Mrs. Luraschi for information and an application.  Space is limited to 50.
THE WORD OF THE WEEK IS PROXIMITY (prox-sim-it-ee).  Though proximity is often used in relation to space, it can also have to do with time:  Because of the proximity of my appointments, I was busy the entire day.

THE DEADLINE TO SIGN UP FOR THE APRIL 14 ACT TEST is this Friday, March 9.  JUNIORS interested in taking the ACT, SAT or ACT Work Keys for FREE, stop by and see Ms. Patrick in the Guidance Office.

INTERESTED IN LIFEGUARDING?  Pick up information in the Commons from Lifeguards Unlimited on March 13 and March 20 during lunch sessions.

JUNIORS:  Need money for college?  The Army Reserve has scholarships & paid jobs starting this summer.  There is an information session on March 15.  See Mrs. Luraschi to sign up.

IF YOU ARE CURIOUS ABOUT THE PROGRAMS THAT NORTH TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL OFFERS and would like to speak with teachers that can tell you how the programs will prepare you for your future career, come to North Tech's Open House on Thursday, March 15 from 4:30-7:30pm.  The address is 1700 Derhake Road in Florissant, MO.
