You have read pages 38-44 in your textbook. These pages cover background information about epithelial and connective tissue. Now you are to fill in the graphic organizer given in class and write a paragraph to answer the following student's dilemma.

 

PROMPT:

Jack has been looking through the microscope at various tissue slides. He is still finding it difficult to determine the details of each type of tissue. In particular he can not find the basement membrane. He asks his partner the following questions.

  • What features or characteristics do you use to determine if it is epithelial or connective tissue?
