REPRODUCTIVE ASSESSMENT CHOICES


YOU MUST DO ONE OF THE THREE BELOW. IT IS DUE NO LATER THAN TUESDAY--MAY 25th, 2004

 

CHOICE #1
INFORMATIVE PAMPHLET

Develop a pamphlet concerning a male or female reproductive issue. Your pamphlet should be an infomative, unique piece of work on one, page, single-spaced, double or triple columned. At the end of your pamphlet, you should include a list of at least 3 references. Complete early so it can be edited and revised. Insert graphics when appropriate!

  • breast self-exams
  • prostate exams, early detection and cancer
  • different contraceptive choices (choose one)
  • menstruation--write as if your audience were 8 and 9 year olds.
  • menopause
  • OTHER--after OK from teacher

In addition to the pamphlet, you must turn in:

  • The notes or 3 highlighted articles
  • First or rough draft (showing editing marks)
CHOICE #2
PRO/CON PAPER

Choose three to five articles on one of the following topics and write a pro/con paper (2 to 3 pages). ARTICLES must be included with the paper. Both the pro and con opinions must be supported with factural anatomical information. Please include a reference page (both works consulted and works cited). Remember: The thesis should be stated at the end of the first paragraph.

  • abortion
  • invitro fertilization
  • breast implants
  • artificial insemination
  • surrogate mothers
  • cloning
  • same sex marriages
  • teenage sex
  • sex changes
  • genetic diseases vs abortion or life
  • OTHER--after OK from teacher

In addition to the final paper, you must turn in:

  • The first draft (showing editing marks)
  • Your highlighted references--things highlighted should appear somewhere in the paper
CHOICE #3
WRITTEN TEST

If you do not do either of the other two choices or if you would prefer, you can (will) take a written test over the reproductive system. It will include structure, diagrams, diseases, genetics, and development. THIS YEAR THE TEST DATE WILL BE TUESDAY, MAY 25th--the same day that the other projects are due.
