HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH:  September 15 to October 15 marks Hispanic Heritage Month.  It is important to take this time to recognize the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the group's heritage and culture.
Recording artist Selena Gomez was named after the famous Tejano singer and actress Selena who died in 1995.  Her father is of Mexican descent while her mother has Italian ancestry.  The American Latino Media Arts Award is an award highlighting the best American Latino contributions to music, television, and film.  The awards promote fair and accurate portrayals of Latinos.  Selena won the Alma award in 2009.

ORDER GRADUATION ITEMS in the Main Gym lobby during lunch today, October 11.  Order packets are available in Mr. Thompson's office and the Activities Office.

VOTE FOR HOMECOMING QUEEN on the Moodle today and tomorrow (October 11 & 12)!  Voting will close at the end of the day tomorrow!  You will need to be logged in to your PHS email!

THE COMMUNITY SERVICE CLUB will be recycling paper today, October 11 after school.
STAFF:  Please place your blue recycling bins in the hallway after school today prior to heading to Professional Development.

COLLEGE/FINANCIAL AID/SCHOLARSHIP WALK-IN HELP today, October 11 from 1:30-2:15pm. in the College Center.

ANY SENIOR NEEDING FINANCIAL AID HELP OR WHO IS AN IMMIGRANT STUDENT, see Mrs. Luraschi this morning to sign-up for expert help today, October 11.

CREATIVE WRITING CLUB will meet after school today, October 11 in room D106 from 2:30-3:20pm.

COLLEGE VISIT FOR TOMORROW, OCTOBER 12:  University of Miami, Florida; sign-up on Naviance or stop by the Guidance Office.

PETE'S CLOSET has water bottles and mugs.  Make sure you wash them before they are used.

AFRICAN AMERICAN ACHIEVERS SOCIETY (TRIPLE A) will meet on Monday, October 15 from 2:30-4:00pm in room H215.  New and returning members are welcomed.  Make sure to bring your money for your club shirt!

ATTENTION SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS AND SENIORS!  The Personal Finance Test will be offered November 14 in room B208 at 2:30pm.  There is NO COST for this exam and there are only 20 spots available.  Sign up with Mrs. Martinez in the Guidance Office by November 5.

  • FRESHMEN AND SOPHOMORES should remain in their Homeroom class during Pirate Connections today.
  • JUNIORS interested in military options should report to room B104.  
  • ALL REMAINING JUNIORS (and their teachers) should report to the Auditorium.  Reminder:  There is no food or drink allowed in the Auditorium.
  • SENIORS interested in completing a St. Louis Community College application should report to the Cafeteria with their laptop and social security information.
  • SENIORS interested in completing a St. Charles Community College application should report to the College & Career Center with their laptop and social security information.
  • SENIORS interested in military options should report to room B104.
  • ALL REMAINING SENIORS should remain in their Homeroom class.
