PHS ROBOTICS COMPETED IN THE FIRST TECH CHALLENGE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP on Saturday, March 9, on the campus of Missouri S&T.  Missouri has over 220 FTC teams and 48 qualify for the championship.  Both teams, 2866 and 7856 from Pattonville, qualified during the season.  Team 2866 finished 16th and 7856 finished 7th, each in a division of 24 teams.  Team 2866 received the 1st place Control Award, which made them the second alternate to the World Championship.  The Control Award is given to a team that demonstrates innovative thinking using sensors and software to solve game challenges such as autonomous operation, or improving mechanical systems with intelligent control to achieve better results on the field, all of which must be documented in their engineering notebook.  Mentors Khoa Trieu and Gary Mathis were asked to referee at the championship.  Congratulations to all students!
