Meet the instructional leaders who help shape the environment of Pattonville High School.

From school climate to the wealth of activities; from the collaboration with teachers to the relationships with students; these are the people who carry on the Pattonville mission "That ALL Will Learn." 

PHS Administration

Ms. Ashford

Ms. Ashford, Principal

Ms. Ashford previously served as Pattonville’s director of student services. Prior to taking on a district leadership role, she served as principal of Holman Middle School for eight years. She also worked as an assistant principal at Pattonville Heights Middle School and a science teacher at Holman and the high school. Ashford also taught middle school science in the Hazelwood School District. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL). Ashford is also a 2021 candidate for a specialist’s degree in educational leadership and a doctorate degree in educational leadership and policy studies, both from UMSL.

In addition to leading several committees, Ms. Ashford oversees the Social Studies department, TV & Video Production, and all department leaders.

Mr. Grimshaw

Mr. Grimshaw, Associate Principal (Seniors)

In 2012, Mr. Grimshaw joined the administrative team as an assistant principal. He began his career in the Pattonville School District in 2001 as a social studies teacher at Positive School. In the fall of 2005, he transitioned to Pattonville High School, where he taught World History and AP European History. In addition to his classroom responsibilities, he also spent time coaching baseball and football. Mr. Grimshaw holds a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Westminster College, a master's degree in secondary administration from William Woods University, and an education specialist degree in administration from William Woods University. His wife, Denise, is a physical education teacher at Remington Traditional School.

Mr. Grimshaw oversees all PHS Seniors, as well as the Counseling department, Career & College Counseling Center, PE/Health departments, and the Modern Language departments.

Dr. Fitzgerald

Dr. Fitzgerald, Assistant Principal

Dr. Jon Fitzgerald was hired as an assistant principal at Pattonville High School in 2012. Prior to that, he worked in Pattonville as a social studies teacher and administrative intern at the high school. He also previously taught middle school social studies in the Saint Louis Public School District. Dr. Fitzgerald holds a bachelor's degree in secondary education with an emphasis in social studies from Southeast Missouri State University, a master's degree in educational administration from Lindenwood University, and a doctoral degree in educational leadership from Maryville University.

Administrative duties include: Career and Technical Education department, Technology Help Center, Biomedical Sciences, Positive School and Wellness.

Mr. Redden

Mr. Redden, Assistant Principal (A-G)

Andre Redden joined Pattonville High School as an assistant principal for the 2023–2024 school year. Prior to this role, he served at Bayless High School as a business teacher, head girls basketball coach, head track and field coach, and FBLA advisor. He also worked as a business teacher at Gateway STEM High School in the St. Louis Public Schools. Mr. Redden holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Mississippi State University, a master's degree in business administration from Lindenwood University, a master's degree in teaching from Lindenwood University, and a specialist degree in educational administration from Northwest Missouri State University.

Administrative duties include: students with the last names in the A-G alphabet range, Sophomore Class Liaison, Science Department, Band/Choir/Orchestra, Care Team/Trauma Informed Practices, and Tutoring.

Dr. Burns

Dr. Burns, Assistant Principal (H-O)

Dr. Dana Burns joined the administrative team as an assistant principal in 2017. She previously taught biology at Pattonville High School for 10 years, during which she also served as chair of the science department. Dr. Burns holds a bachelor's degree in business from Illinois State University, a master's degree in teaching, a specialist degree in administration from Lindenwood University, and a doctoral degree in educational leadership from Lindenwood University.

Administrative duties include: overseeing students with last names in the H–O range, serving as the Freshman Class Liaison, and supporting the English Language Arts department, Gifted Education, Library, Speech & Debate, and Theater. She also serves as the school’s professional development coordinator.

Mr. Beucke

Mr. Beucke, Assistant Principal (P-Z)

Jared Beucke joined the administrative team as an assistant principal in the 2022–2023 school year. He spent the previous 17 years in the Hazelwood School District, including 11 years in administrative roles. Most recently, he served as associate principal at Hazelwood West High School. Prior to his work in administration, Mr. Beucke was a social studies teacher at Hazelwood Central High School, where he also coached basketball. He holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from the University of Missouri–Columbia, a master’s degree in secondary administration from Lindenwood University, and an education specialist degree from Lindenwood University.

Administrative duties include: students with last names in the P-Z alphabet range, Junior Class liaison, English Learners, Fine Arts, and Math departments.

Mr. Sellers

Mr. Sellers, Activities Director

Jason Sellers was appointed activities director at Pattonville High School in 2020. Prior to this role, he served as the physical education department chair and girls soccer coach at PHS. He has also held leadership positions at the state and regional levels, including Class 4 State Representative and Board Member for the Missouri State High School Soccer Coaches Association (MSHSSCA) and Midwest Regional Chair for United Soccer Coaches. Sellers was inducted into the Missouri Soccer Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions to the sport.

Before joining Pattonville, he taught physical education in the Hazelwood School District for 15 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Missouri–St. Louis, a master’s degree in sport management from Missouri Baptist University, and is a certified athletic administrator.

Mr. Sellers oversees all of the activities and athletics at Pattonville High School.

Leigh Ann Schaffer, SSD Coordinator

Leigh Ann Schaffer has served as an area coordinator for Special School District in Pattonville since 2014. Prior to joining SSD and Pattonville, she held several leadership roles in Illinois, including co-director of special education in the West Frankfort District, assistant director of special education at the Kaskaskia Special Education District, and technical assistant supervisor for the Tri-County Special School District.

Ms. Schaffer also has extensive classroom experience, having taught students with disabilities for eight years at the secondary level and five years at the elementary level. She earned both her undergraduate and master's degrees from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.

In her current role, Ms. Schaffer coordinates and supervises all special education services at Pattonville High School.
