Snow Day Procedures during Phase 2 - Hybrid Instruction
In the event that snow or inclement weather occurs on a Monday, there will be minimal impact to normal operations. During Phase 2, Mondays are virtual instruction days for students and classes will occur as normal virtually that day. If snow or inclement weather occurs on Tuesday - Friday, the district may transition to a virtual snow day. During a virtual snow day, there will not be any in-person classes. Learning will be asynchronous (independent) with teacher support.
In grades 9-12, students will be expected to complete 15 minutes of assigned independent work per class. Teachers will post assignments to their Canvas courses. Teachers are required to be available for 2 hours to support student learning and will post their availability for the day in their Canvas courses. Our librarians will also offer activities on virtual snow days which can be found on the library site.
Pattonville will use a number of ways to provide important information to Pattonville families about other emergencies or major school events. Depending on the situation, Pattonville may use e-mail, an automated telephone calling system, the district website, U.S. mail or the local media to keep families informed of important information. For this reason, it’s important that all parents provide their school office with their most current phone numbers (home, work or cell phone). In addition, if parents wish to be notified via email of important information or updates, they should provide their email information to the school on the school enrollment forms. Pattonville will use the contact information it has on file in it's student information system when communicating with parents.
