PHS Career Fair
Purpose:
Pattonville High School's Career Fair introduces students to a variety of career opportunities as they begin to determine high school and post-secondary education and career interests.
The Fair is approximately 90 minutes in duration, and will be split into 2, 40 minute sessions. Speakers will have an assigned space in 1 of 2 adjacent gymnasiums, with a 6' table for any materials or display items (similar to a traditional college, career, or job fair setup). Students will select several career speakers to visit during their allotted time. Speakers may choose to have a set list of items to share with students or answer specific questions that students may have. Approximately 500 students will attend each session.
Students are encouraged to engage presenters in conversation regarding their career, field and topics of interest. Examples of interesting topics for students:
-
Training or education required
-
Salary ranges
-
Career growth opportunities
-
Daily job responsibilities or tasks
-
Benefits (health, stock, tuition reimbursement, etc.)
-
Work / life balance
