Outdoor Education
During camp, the role of the counselor is to monitor the fifth grade students in a positive and encouraging manor while following district policies. Camp lasts for 4 days and 3 nights (Tuesday-Friday). A bus will pick you up at PHS on Tuesday morning at 7:30 and drop you off on Friday at noon in the same location. Attendance at camp does not excuse counselors from completing all the assignments for his/her classes. Students may work on these assignments each night once the 5th graders have gone to sleep or during breaks as long as the 5th graders are being monitored by someone else.
If a counselor successfully fulfills all of his/her responsibilities in a positive manner, counselors may earn up to 50 hours of service (25 hours towards the A+ program and 25 hours towards general community service.
